Submission Guidelines

Qualifications
Please read these carefully, as these have recently changed.

You must be a current member of the Writing, Prompts, and Critiques (WPC) Facebook group.

Entries must be applicable to the theme of the anthology or they will not be considered.

Stories must adhere to the indicated word limits. For longer form stories (over 1k) we will consider works that go slightly over or under the limits set. We never want to sacrifice quality for word count. For shorter form stories, word counts never includes the title.

All entries must be original works by the author, written in English. Any plagiarism (including the use of third-party poetry, song lyrics, characters, or settings — this includes fanfiction) will result in immediate disqualification and exclusion from all WPC Press publications.

Entries may not have been previously published in professional media.

No gratuitous violence (e.g. violence unnecessary to the story or violence depicted without cause) or overly sexual or erotic content. These stories will be immediately rejected. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please reach out to us via e-mail or on Facebook and we will be happy to work with you directly!
Submission Requirements

Entries should be submitted via email to WPCAnthologies@gmail.com.

Your documents must be in Microsoft Word format. (Note: If you don't have Word, please visit this page for instructions on how to convert Google Docs to Microsoft Word format.)

Use Times New Roman or Arial font, 12 point.

Double-space your submissions. No indents. No tabs.

Please edit fully for grammar and punctuation, as this highly influences our selections. Consider programs like Grammarly or ProWriting Aid.

Include a header in your document containing only your story title, word count, and the publication title you're submitting to.

Include your name, pen name, submission title, and author bio (up to 100 words) in the body of your email.

PLEASE NOTE if your name or pen name that you submit with does not match the name displayed on your Facebook account that has membership in the main Writing, Prompts, and Critiques group, you MUST include your Facebook name and profile link in your submission email. Failure to do so will result in a submission rejection.

The subject line of your email should read, "ANTHOLOGY NAME, Story Title, Author Name." unless otherwise specified.

The file name of your document should include the title of your story.

All entries must be submitted before midnight EST on the indicated deadline date. Please refer to the submission deadline countdown on the Open Submissions page.

Co-authored pieces will be considered to up to two authors participating only for stories over 1,000 words.

Please refer to the Open Submissions page for any additional specifications required for individual calls.
Publication

Emails confirming receipt of your story will be sent within 72 hours of your submission.

Responses will be sent out by email within 4 weeks of submission.

For our current anthologies, compensation will be a digital copy of the book and discounted paperback copies.

Please be advised, WPC Press will NEVER charge entry fees for any publications.
